Tom started rowing at Bedford School at the age of twelve and during his time there he got his first taste of international rowing representing Great Britain at the Coupe de la Jeunesse in Italy. He then moved onto Oxford Brookes University where he won his first Henley Royal Regatta medal, that year he medalled at the World Student Games in Poland. At Oxford Brookes Tom won a further four Henley medals before moving onto Leander Club and the national team.
Under the guidance of Jurgen Grobler, Tom won the Grand Challenge Cup at Henley Regatta and rowed at the World Championships in the heavyweight men's eight. Tom is currently Director of Rowing at The Oratory School previously being Head of Girls' Rowing at St Edwards' School, Oxford.
