Netball Coaches

Melissa Hyndman

Melissa Hyndman is one of the world’s most prominent high performance netball coaches. Melissa has previously taken Wales from 19th to 8th in the world rankings, the highest they have ever been placed and the greatest improvement a coach has made to any national team since rankings have been recorded. Melissa also oversaw the most successful season in the history of the Celtic Dragons, a campaign in which they reached the Super League grand final. 

Previously, New Zealand born Melissa was Fiji National Netball Coach where she implemented a Development and Coaching Plan, successfully coaching the U21 Team from 13th to 9th in the world. Melissa was also IWA Inspire Wales Sports Finalist 2012 and Sport Wales Coach of the Year Finalist 2011.

Sophie Masterson

Sophie is Head of Netball at King Edwards VI High School for Girls and she also coaches on the England Netball pathway in the satellite academies. Sophie plays in the GK/GS positions. Her playing achievements include: winning Superleague with Team Bath in the 2012 - 2013 season, winning the Europeans as Vice-Captain for England U19 and being Athlete of the Month for Sports Aid in 2013.

Lisa Manning

Lisa is an England Netball pathway coach who specialises in developing junior players skills and inspiring them to take their netball further. Lisa is also Assistant Coach for the East Midlands Regional Performance Academy in Loughborough and also Assistant Coach for Team South in the National Performance League. 

With many years expereince of coaching junior players, Lisa is the perfect coach for our academies and will help the girls to improve their core skills and help them enjoy netball even more! 

Josie Janz-Dawson

Josie currently plays for the Severn Stars Netball Super League and originally shot to fame in the U21 Australia Squad, citing her signature move as the "jump on the shot!" Aside from her netball attributes, Josie works with the Wirrpanda Foundation in Australia, mentoring young women to lead healthy lifestyles and be confident.

Megan Powell

Megan plays in the position of GD, WD and GK and her current clubs include CTK and Wales U21. Megan's first major netball achievement was making the cut for the Wales U15s in 2011, and she then successfully entered the Wales A team in 2014. In June 2016 she played in and captained the U21 South Africa tri-series. She plans on receiving her Wales Senior Cap and wants to play superleague, with an end goal of becoming a PE teacher eventually! 

Amy Beales

Amy plays in the position of GD, GK and WD, and her clubs include Lawn Netball Club (Premier 3/ RL1), Hucclecoate NC (RL1), Hartpury College and Team Bath. Her most recent achievement on the court was her team's win at the University of Bath Varsity Champions (2016). In the coming years Amy plans to become a full-time coach/ PE teacher and to gain Super League representation.
